Sharp wit under pressure is a skill I actually understand pretty well from coaching, because the best in-game adjustments come from people who can think fast and still land the exact right move at the exact right moment, and from everything I've read, that's basically Nora Ephron's whole game as a writer and director. 'When Harry Met Sally' and 'Sleepless in Seattle' are the two everybody knows, and she's credited with real influence over the entire romantic comedy genre after that, which is like being the coach whose system every other program starts copying because it just plain works. That's a legacy that outlasts the individual games, so to speak — other people building their whole playbook off what she figured out first. I respect that kind of influence more than any single hit, honestly, because one great script is a great moment, but reshaping how an entire genre gets written afterward is a coaching tree, in basketball terms, and coaching trees are how you know somebody actually changed the sport, not just had one good season in it.
