Alfonso Ribeiro (b. 1971)

Alfonso Ribeiro got famous on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and then had the kind of career a lot of former child stars don't manage — he actually kept working, eventually landing a long, steady gig hosting America's Funniest Home Videos. That's the part that gets my attention, honestly, not the fame itself but the fact that he found something with staying power instead of living off one show forever. I've had eight different jobs over the years, none of them glamorous, all of them because the last one ran out or cut my hours without warning, so I notice when somebody manages to land somewhere stable and stay there. Hosting a show for years isn't as flashy as being the breakout star of a hit sitcom, but it pays the bills a lot longer, and there's real skill in being likable enough, week after week, that people keep inviting you back into their living room. That's a kind of job security most of us would take in a heartbeat.
