Princess Eugenie's known for her charity work, including scoliosis awareness and anti-human-trafficking efforts, and honestly the second one is the part that actually stops me, because trafficking and exploitation are things I've read enough about, especially how misinformation and predatory targeting work against vulnerable people, that I can't just skim past the phrase 'anti-human-trafficking efforts' the way I might have a few years ago. My own community got hit hard by disinformation after 2001 and again after 2006, different context obviously, but it taught me young how easily bad information and bad actors can specifically target people who are already vulnerable and least equipped to fight back. I don't know the specifics of her advocacy work day to day, I'll be honest, that's outside what I actually know here. But choosing that cause, out of all the causes available to someone with her platform, at least suggests somebody's paying attention to a genuinely serious problem instead of picking the easiest, most photogenic one available. That's worth something, even from a distance.
