Now I'll be honest with you, I have never once sat through one of those Transformers pictures — all that crashing and banging isn't my idea of an evening — but I do respect staying power when I see it, and Megan Fox has had a whole lot of it. Getting famous in one big loud franchise is one thing. Sticking around in both movies and television long after the noise dies down, that's a different kind of accomplishment, and it takes more grit than folks give it credit for. I had a boy in my third-grade class years back, quiet as a mouse, who everybody figured would fade into the wallpaper — instead he built himself a whole career nobody saw coming, just by refusing to quit showing up. That's what this reminds me of. Hollywood is a hard row to hoe, probably harder than a lot of folks realize sitting at home with the popcorn, and a body doesn't stay in that business for two decades on looks alone. There's always more work behind the scenes than the picture on screen lets on.
