Angelo Dundee (1921-2012)

Angelo Dundee trained both Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, which means he wasn't just good at his job once, he was good at it across an entire generational gap, adapting his coaching to two completely different fighters with completely different styles and personalities. That's a harder trick than it sounds like from the outside — the best coach for one great talent is not automatically the best coach for the next one, and plenty of trainers get stuck coaching the fighter they already know how to coach. I think about that in comedy sometimes, watching writers who can only punch up material in one specific voice; the ones who can adapt to completely different performers are rarer and more valuable than people realize. Being the guy in the corner for two of boxing's most legendary champions, in two different eras, tells me Dundee's actual skill was reading people, not just running one system and hoping it worked twice.
