Agnes Moorehead (1900-1974)

Agnes Moorehead had a distinguished career across stage, radio, and screen for decades before most people just remember her as Endora on Bewitched, which is honestly how it goes for a lot of people who put in the real, long hours — the world tends to remember the one shiny thing and skip the years of grinding work underneath it. I've worked more jobs than I can list on one hand at any given time for most of my adult life, so I've got a soft spot for anybody whose actual body of work is way bigger and more serious than the one thing people know them for. Moorehead apparently earned respect across multiple mediums, not just one lucky role, which takes real range and real staying power in an industry that doesn't usually hand either of those out for free. I listen to a lot of old-time radio dramas during my delivery shifts actually, so there's a decent chance I've heard her voice in something and had no idea it was her at the time.
