Yvonne Strahovski built a career across genuinely different registers — "Chuck," a comedy, and "The Handmaid's Tale," about as heavy a drama as television gets — and getting real praise in both is harder than people probably realize, because most actors get typecast into one lane and stay there whether they want to or not. I notice that kind of range because most of the jobs I've worked never let me show any range at all; you get hired for exactly one task and that's the whole job, no room to prove you could do more. An actor who actually gets the chance to show both comedic and dramatic range, and pulls both off well enough to be praised for it, got something a lot of talented people in a lot of fields never get offered: the opportunity itself. Strahovski clearly made good on it when it came. That's worth noting separately from the talent — having the door open and having the skill to walk through it well are two different things, and she had both.
