Princess Beatrice (b. 1988)

Princess Beatrice has built her public role mostly around charitable patronages, including work supporting children's hospitals and disability causes, which is a quieter, less headline-grabbing lane of royal life than some of her relatives choose. I'll admit royal-family stuff isn't usually my beat — my parents immigrated from Bangalore specifically to build something outside any inherited system like that — but there's something worth respecting in someone using an inherited platform for genuinely unglamorous, patient advocacy work instead of just, you know, existing photogenically. It's the difference between having a platform and actually using it for something, which is a distinction I think about with my own comedy audience too, on a hilariously smaller scale. Charitable patronage doesn't trend the same way scandal does, so a lot of this kind of steady work just never gets much attention, which feels a little backwards to me. Consistency in a cause, even a quiet one, is worth more credit than it usually gets.
